Living on Mission

God's commission to make disciples applies to you!

Have you ever considered how you will live on mission? Most of us look at missionaries who give their lives to the proclamation of the gospel in foreign lands as special people, but the truth of the matter is that God has called you to do the exact same thing right here where you live.

That may sound scary, but it doesn't have to be. In fact, living on mission in Sulphur Springs, or wherever you live, can be the most exciting thing you have ever done. Your life was made for it! One comforting truth is that you were never intended to do it alone. God has intentionally placed people around you to help you. Those people are other followers of Christ who have the same responsibility you do, to proclaim the gospel to Sulphur Springs.

God has designed the church to be an equipping center for you to be able to do this. He has created a fellowship of Christians called the local church to be your support and help and he has given you a vast array of relationships and contacts to be used for His purposes.

At Journey, we believe so strongly in this that we have structured our whole existence around it. Our Gospel Community Groups are mission outposts of our church that meet in homes around the community. We meet with the purpose of being a FAMILY of MISSIONARY SERVANTS. We plan and work together to reach our community. We come together not to have another Bible study, although we talk about the bible, but to pray for our community and plan ways to penetrate it with the gospel and love of Jesus.
